Pubis Aesthetics (with Lipolysis)

Pubis aesthetics or pubis crest aesthetics are among the applications demanded among patients recently.

As a result of women's self-awareness, the procedures for the deformities and thickness of the area between the lower abdomen and the external genital lips, called ' mons pubis' (Venus region), are called 'pubis aesthetics' or 'mons aesthetics'.

What is pubis? Where is it?

The pubic crest, also known as the mons pubis, is the name given to the high and covered hairy area in the upper part of the genital area, just below the groin. This part may appear slightly puffier than normal in some women. Women may be uncomfortable with the prominence of this part. When wearing swimsuits, bikinis, tights or tight fabric pants, the swelling here can disturb women.

Why is the pubis big?

The mons pubis, also called the hill of Venus, is a suitable area for the collection of adipose tissue located just below the groin in the upper part of the genital area. It becomes evident in parallel with weight gain in women. Sometimes, it is structurally in the feature of collecting mons pubis fat even without being under weight. However, this problem is more common in women who gain weight quickly.

Due to genetic predisposition, this part can be lubricated after normal or cesarean delivery or due to obesity and creates laxity in the skin. No matter how much women diet, it is difficult for them to melt the swelling and fat in the pubic area.

What is pubis aesthetics (Monsplasty)?

Contrary to the filling process applied to the genital area, subcutaneous fat tissue can be removed from the "mons pubis", which is thicker than normal, and a thinner appearance can be achieved. The reduction of the mons pubis bump is called 'Monsplasty'.

Pubis aesthetics can be done in three ways.

  1. Lipolysis: Melting the subcutaneous fat with some injections made to the subcutaneous part over the pubis. It is advantageous because it is a painless and non-surgical procedure.
  2. Liposuction: It is the removal of the adipose tissue on the pubis by liposuction, thus thinning the pubis mound.
  3. Surgical procedure: Surgical removal of the skin layer and flattening this area. Like a small tummy tuck operation, a pubic bump can be surgically reduced. Surgical procedure is applied only in those who have complaints of advanced folding and excess in the pubis region.
